• If you have a high school diploma, you must have a minimum of five years of project management experience of which at least 7,500 hours must have been spent leading and directing project tasks.
• If you have a bachelor degree, you must have a minimum of three years of project management experience of which at least 4,500 hours must have been spent leading and directing project tasks.
• You must attend the 35 contact hours of project management training.

3. Read the Project Management Professional Handbook (PMP Handbook)



The Project Management Professional Handbook (PMP Handbook) is created and published by The Project Management Institute. This handbook explains the process of taking the PMP Exam and becoming PMP in detail. Therefore PMI requires that all the aspirants read the PMP Handbook and learn the policies and procedures required to get and maintain the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

7. Get the Project Managemen Training

8. Study Hard



The PMP Exam is not easy to pass. It requires a hard working period. Read The PMBOK® Guide and other reference books. Also, take notes efficiently during the 35 contract hour training. If you don’t read The PMBOK® Guide it will be very difficult for you to pass the exam in the first attempt. You need to solve sample pmp exam questions before to take the exam.

9. Take the Exam

Be aware of the exam procedures. Manage your time to answer all the questions. After completion of the exam, you complete a short survey and after the survey, you will know whether you passed or failed.

10. Earn Professional Development Units (PDU’s)



Once you passed the exam, you need to collect Professional Development Units (PDUs) to keep the certification active. You can earn PDU’s by attending seminars, training programs, workshops offered by PMI Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.).
