Founded in 1998, the RACPD is a thriving and successful provider of apprenticeships and nationally recognized qualifications to the Royal Artillery, other Service personnel, and the wider Defence community including veterans and dependents. Offering over 40 civilian vocational and professional qualifications to help improve your abilities and knowledge, both now, and in preparation for your next career. Covering a large range of subjects within courses, from Logistics to Telecommunications, Teacher Education and Training, Functional Skills, and Leadership & Management. Serving military personnel and veterans can access learning credits, either Standard Learning Credits (SLC) or Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC), to offset the cost of your chosen course. Ensuring a number of free courses and, because we are a charity, providing various courses at subsidized rates. As a learner, you have access to learning online, in the workplace, and even in one of our Learning Centres. With Learning Centres across England with many staff ex-military, you have dedicated personnel providing an understanding of the learning environment and unique issues you face.

A sponsor and supporter of the RA’s annual Personal Development Awards, recognizing and rewarding an individual’s effort and commitment to their own personal development. Prizes are worth £8000 and the presentations take place during the RA’s annual conference. Our PD promotion policy is a financial contribution for the purposes of promoting and encouraging RA personnel to gain educational benefits through personal development. The RACPD is a leading provider of nationally recognized civilian qualifications to the Royal Artillery, other Service personnel, and the larger Defence community including reservists, veterans, and family members. We are also a charity.
Our mission: We provide outstanding personal and professional development to soldiers, dependents, and veterans whether they are in early recruit or trade training, mid-career, undergoing resettlement, or developing a second career. We want to enable better life occasions for soldiers and their families.
Our vision: RACPD will inspire, encourage, challenge, and entirely support learners and staff to achieve their best. We will be the provider of choice, delivering relevant programs of learning, aligning military abilities with recognized civilian qualifications. We will increase our flexibility and reach through wider use of online technology and provide staff and learners to work remotely at a time/location that results in success. Income will be maximized by the excellent learner and staff management whilst retaining a grade one experience and achievement.
