Halesowen College is a thriving tertiary college operating from three essential sites – Whittingham Road, Shenstone House, and Coombs Wood Technology Centre. It provides one of the most comprehensive syllabi offers in the region. The College has maintained a good reputation for a sustained period and this was reconfirmed in September 2017, when Ofsted judged the College to be ‘good’ overall. Key Ofsted findings –
‘Learners make good progress in improving their English & Maths’
‘College resources are managed very effectively’
‘College learners are confident, polite and articulate’
‘Apprentices remain in employment, gain promotion or continue to
higher-level apprenticeships’
‘Learners benefit from an effective range of support’
‘The College environment is inclusive and harmonious’ In addition, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) found the College’s Higher Education provision to fully meet their expectations and awarded TEF (Teaching Excellence Framework) Silver. Halesowen College is the only college in the Black Country to achieve this award. Halesowen College values social and cultural diversity and aims to ensure you will find the College to be an inclusive and welcoming place to study. We are a learner-concentrated organization with values based on trust, integrity, and respect. We seek to provide a working environment free from harassment, discrimination, and victimization. We will not tolerate any form of discriminatory behavior against actual or potential learners, visitors, or employees. The College goals to actively promote equality of occasion and challenge discriminatory attitudes. Equality and diversity impact everyone as we all work in diverse teams with people of different genders, ethnic origins, sexual orientation, skills, beliefs, values, and working styles. It is significant to understand what we mean by equality and diversity, how it affects everyday life, and the reasons for and benefits of promoting it. We are committed to creating an inclusive College, where people are treated with dignity and respect and where we anticipate and respond positively to different wants and circumstances so that everyone can achieve their potential.
