At Marple Sixth Form College we are very proud of our high academic and vocational standards but also believe students should get the occasion to enlarge their horizons outside of the classroom. Whether you still think of us as The Ridge or even The Willows, Marple Sixth Form College has been at the heart of the local community for over 80 years. Throughout this time we have upheld a tradition of high academic standards, excellent student guidance, and an inclusive approach to learning which helps prepare young people for the next stage of their lives. For the vast majority of our students, this means progressing to university – and many have gone on to study at Oxford, Cambridge, or Russell Group institutions. For others, a more vocational route may be preferred – which is why we also offer an exciting and diverse program of courses and extra-curricular activities linked to business, careers, and enterprise. In either case, we look to help our students maximize their full potential and equip them to pursue whichever pathway they choose to take in the future. This website shows in detail the extensive range of courses and programs on offer at our college, as well as information on the wide-ranging support which we can offer.  As a college, we are committed to caring for each individual within a friendly and supportive learning environment. We offer both educational routes available to 16-year-olds after leaving Year 11 – namely A levels and vocational programs such as BTECs. We offer a stimulating learning environment and as a result, our students progress to the first-class destination of their choice, be it university, higher apprenticeship, or employment.
