In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, 77% of the research undertaken by Bangor University was rated in the top two tiers of research quality, ahead of the average for all UK universities. Professional accreditation or recognition is a ‘seal of approval’ which demonstrates that the module/program is considered by the professional body to have real career value. Graduates of these modules/programs may be eligible for exemptions from special modules of certain professional qualifications; be able to obtain credits that can be put towards certain professional qualifications; or be able to graduate with a dual award – a qualification from the professional body alongside their Bangor University degree.
