Description
Offended people’s perception is their reality! We address your Provider’s words, tone, actions & behaviors that may be perceived as offensive. We improve how they come across to staff, patients and colleagues.
Our common-sensed approach to sensitivity and harassment prevention training is different from other training providers. Instead of delivering what is really just a legally-focused anti-discrimination – and labeling it sensitivity training, we actually identify & address the causes of insensitive, disrespectful or offensive behavior. Yes, we tackle the legal issues, but they do little to actually change a provider’s behavior or thinking.
We believe the vast majority of physicians don’t come to work looking to intentionally be insensitive, disrespectful or offensive. Sometimes, the healthcare work environment might become too casual or comfortable and jokes, stories or attempts at humor cross the line from entertaining to offensive. In other cases, an incident takes place and the provider becomes emotional; they open their mouth; their brain stops – or maybe it doesn’t engage at all – and quite frankly, they say or do something stupid! We work with the your providers to identify their communication and behavior styles – not just from their point of view – but more importantly, from the perception of staff, colleagues or patients. They have to better understand how their actions or communication style may be perceived by others…they need to understand it’s not just what was said…it was how it was said. In our sensitivity and harassment prevention training, providers build action plans to change their behavior or communication styles to enhance a more respectful and harassment-free healthcare workplace. When we work with providers, we also emphasize & reinforce the importance of them being role models and stewards of your practice or hospital’s reputation.
If our common-sensed approach appeals to you, please contact us for more information and pricing, thank you.
